| How long do you work now on your Project, I nearly think more than 10 years, I know you are a perfectionist and it would surely be cool, but will it be finished before I die and would it be really Complette,.... To make it like on Grayskullmusem would be hoax for a book, country Variation missing. http://www.grayskullmuseum.com/YB/SUPER.htm To make it like a Mattel sales-promotional would be cool for a memories-backflash but maybe not the right for a collectors-guide, only with the US without the others. But maybe you find the right mix. Can you tell us a bit more. _________________ Far Beyond the Stars

| Yes, I want to make it perfect with this project and still need time! It is not exactly a collector book with a complete archive of everything released with MASTERS or PRINCESS OF POWER. My aim is to create a book in style of a MATTEL catalog with lot of photos of the toys with additional information about the changings of the US issues from the beginning the 8-BACKs to the last issues in 1987 and which toys in which period of time was available or removed from the line, the differences with prototypes. Backgroundstories or Character Profile taken only from MATTEL's Comics or other promotional stuffs. I will not present all US-issues as carded or boxed toys - only a complete MOC/MISB collection with one example of each toy. I am concentrate to show different issues as loose figures on the photos with bios or neutral backgrounds. In example: When I describe the first series (1982) you will see photos of figures and accessories issued in this time as original first 8-BACK issues. For the 1983 series I will make photos with the 8-BACKs with DC Comics. Each series will have his own complete collection. The US Toys gave me the best infos about the variants and issues, but I will add some informations about the European issues, too! I will take only the stuffs from MATTEL in Merchandise or Promotions - you will not find i. e. Filmation Cartoon stuff. |

Than you have 5or7 different issues of loose He-Man/Skeletor, I'm sure that more than 75% will not notice the differences.
Are there any production-overlays, you find some AF with Cards/Comics of another painting issue because there were some left or the production wasn't change from 1 day to another, they are only Toys nobody cares back than, must be a little difficult. It's just the same with the bios or backgrounds, always a little different.
It is than a Mattel MotU TIMELINE (a lot of archeology dust to remove with carefully handling)

| I think the differences are there, I have eight HE-MAN figures all of them have differences in paintings. The first 8-BACK has no full painted boots and has detailed paint for the cross on armor.and the six blocks or so.. Mexican-made issue... Reissued Taiwan version... Malaysian version... There are lot of more issues of HE-MAN with 8-BACK cards combined with different Adventure Booklets or DC Comics, but I will use the real first 8-BACK original version issued in 1982 with the Adventure booklet HE-MAN AND THE POWER SWORD with FREE on Cover. The backside of card as no "90-days limited warranty" text. That is the the first HE-MAN on card and have the best colors and details to me to represent it for the book in the Chapter I - MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE 1982. I will get at next the first 82er SKELETOR and he will fit original to the HE-MAN 8-BACK, I have yet! I want to make it more authentic and give pictures the real flair from the MASTERS area of the 80's... Whe it is perfect, I have the chance to release it as official book authorised by MATTEL Germany. They told me, when the presentation is good -why not!? It is not a good work to me collect all figures and accessories without to notice the issues... That would be a simple-made book, like usual pictured Action-Figure Price Guide magazines. I have the knowledge about the issuses since I am a collector in 1986 and I will use it... |

Wow I can remember 86 at Tschernobyl happens at that time a Kindergartenchild playing in the sandpit. And at Nov89 when I get from school to my grandmother/aunt and get the legendary He-Man/Skeletor 2 Pack, I was not angry that my fav TV show was cancelled because of some news, I have cool toys.
Did you bought many MOCS at that time at SALE You are much older than many of us, you would have gotten more possibilities than a little child (self-money). And when I think when the Internet came up,... MotU was very cheap because nobody knows them, I was too much into StarTrek and thought they don't run away and the prices grown up 200% every year .-( But it's truely as much or harder go get cool MOCs, I never find a ScareGlow or some other toys from other toyline which I have never seen in the Toystores (parents with a crying child drive a long time to get to every toystore)

And what's about the Display-Diorammas which you have spoken about long time ago ? _________________ Far Beyond the Stars
