| I dunno how it happened to you guys, mine is sort of a long story, but i'll make it less long.
One day browsing ebay i found a transformer in a guys feedback selling for 120USD i thought "no way" i thought how can this be worth that much? Ibet there are many stores out there still having these guys. So i went to look, and the first one i walked in BAM a generation 1 transformer on the shelf.
That made me so happy that i started seeking for them on ebay, along came the thought of He-man figures (my earlyest memories) i saw them on ebay but thought hell, these are hideous, they always use the same mould. One day just for kicks i bided a ba skeletor moc i wont it for 7 dollars, when it arrived i was like wow this stuff has some quality going on, not to mention the olday memories coming back like lightning. I had to had another, and another and then i found attak trak in stores, so the more MOTU i bought, the less interest i had on transformers even because, you could get misb for 5 dollars and transformers were never under 100usd misb.
So i kept collecting them on and on till today and i'm actually walking that line, wanting another and another and another.
Here it is, my first MOTU since the ones i had as a kid:

How was it 2 you? _________________ Just going out bombin'

| Since 2004 for me (I began my toys collection in april and started the Grayskullmuseum website with Lmdlu in October(?) - if I have a good memory) In March 2004, I took a table to sell in a french toyshow somes Japanese toys (I travelled to Tokyo and brought back japanese toys and video games for the french market) On this Toyshow, I met somebody who had an old stock store with around 300 Motu toys (100% Moc, Mib). Because I was always a motu fan in my brain (but not a toy collector), I bought 75% of his stock to retail all on the web (Forum, Ebay...). After one month, I registered since then on a French forum (today died: musclor.fr.st) and I met collectors there (Lmdlu, Barbarian, Reg, Angel Seng, Kid monster etc....) By speaking with collectors, something in me woke up and I fell again into madness motu and I wondered "why I sell Motu toys to peoples who collect them and that me I do not collect cause I am a fan as them?" One month after: all my money disappeared on ebay ( toky--> <--Motu Power) _________________

| 300 vintage MOCs? Seriously??? Damn, Johnny - you're the luckiest collector I know!!!!!!!!!
Well what was the kickstart for my collection?
In March or April 2004 I was looking on Ebay to get my hands on a "THE CROW" figure from McFarlne Productions: **picture**
Some guy in the United Kingdom had one for sale, so just out of interest (to perhaps save money on combined shipping) I also browsed through his other Ebay items for sale when I saw his U.S. Kobra Khan MOC auction.
Man, I almost couldn't believe to see that a toy from the 1980s survived almost 20 years without being taken out of the package!!! So I ended up winning both the Crow and the Kobra Khan MOCs.
And since this moment the "MotU-fever" has not let go of me....

What were the most rare figures among these 300 mocs? Perhaps the YB Trap-Jaw?
And if you don't mind to tell: how much did you have to pay for the deal? Assuming each moc was only 10 Euros then that is still 3000,- Euros for the whole lot... _________________

| I have found a advertising of a German Comicshop in a Magazine in 1999, I want to buy some StarTrek Actionfigures, and read MotU at 50 DM (DeutscheMark, GermanValue), I only think "such Idots a looose played Actionfigure at that price, but I found out that were MOCs" I don't know exacktly what was my first MotU of my Adult-Collection, but I get very when think that StarTrek is now at 1% at the price, and MotU at 1000% _________________ Far Beyond the Stars

| childhood: Conan Remco, Blackstar and He-man are my favourite toys and cartoon
I bought many Motu figure until the last wave
secondary school (collège in french) : search for He-man is hard and i have to shut up i search for toys and watch cartoon ( it's "has been" in secondary school ). I bought many looses to friends...
lycée (i don't know the english word) : i ask my father to buy a He-man promocional MOC and a zodac and faker loose to Mad Toy Paris (Reg work here at these time!), i remember what i feel when i got it ... most powerful days in my life
After i meet some toydealer in toy convention (1998) and one really help me, i got 30 mocs with him (SSSqueeze, Snake face, tung lashor, King Randor, Saurod, Frak-attack , laser power He-man, whiplash , beast man,Twistoid, clamp champ,Extendar, ...etc and the Faker euro ! I was student at this moment.
So cool days ... my heart beats soon i saw a loose , a MOTU logo , a motu weapon , a comics... It was the time when Internet was not popular and i think it was the best days, days when we are happy with small things ... |
